The Sonic Ark is a state of the art recording and mixing facility based at the east side of Thessaloniki in a purposed built space combining an acoustically perfect enviroment with the best possible recording gear, analog and digital.

We try to combine the best from both analog and digital equipment, from modern DAW and plugins to vintage custom racked preamps and valve mics. Studio A is built around a large, spacious, acoustically treated and controlled live room, accompanied by two booths with natural daylight. The brand new control room includes a true analog monster large format console, Soundtracs flagship, JADE. Studio B is build around our custom mod'ed, fully refurbished Soundcraft 6000 mixing desk, a real vintage piece of gear from the early 80's with fantastic sounding preamps, really musical "british" EQ and LOTS of headroom. We strongly believe in accurate monitoring so we've invested in a powerfull, accurate and transparent monitoring section built around the Grace Design m904 monitor controller and DAC plus well known monitor speakers from Focal, Mackie and Yamaha. We try our best to keep up with what's new in computer technology with powerfull DAW's and sophisticated software. Our recording software, Plugins and samples collection is more than enough to fullfill any creative demand regardless musical styles. But our true love is analog equipment. Our outboard gear includes various modern and vintage high end preamps, dynamics and EQs from Manley Labs, GreatRiver, JLM Audio, TL Audio, AMEK (Neve), DBX, Empirical Labs, EFT, Telefunken-Siemens, Lawo-ANT, API, Eisen, A-Designs, Purple Audio plus vintage FX units like Roland tape echoes, AKG spring reverb units and Dynacord analog reverbs. Our microphone collection includes various classics from Neumann and AKG (like U87's, C12, C414's, M147, TLM170 etc) plus modern designs from Mojave, Octava, RODE, Blue, Senheiser, Shure etc and a small collection of really weird old mics. We also have a large collection of amplifiers and instruments ranging from vintage (JTM45) and modern Marshalls (like JCM900) and MesaBoogie (DC5, single Rectifier), Peavey(6505 and classic50) and Fender amps to Baldwin upright piano, hardware synths and LOTS of classic stompboxes from Moog, ElectroHarmonix, Z.Vex etc.
